WooCommerce Coupons

1. Go to WooCommerce

Firstly, click on the WooCommerce tab on the sidebar located on the left side.

2. Click on Coupons

On the WooCommerce page, click on the Coupons tab located on the left side.

3. Add Coupon

Click on the Add coupon button.

4. Coupon Name

The first input field is the Coupon name. That is also how it will need to be written down when applied.

5. Coupon Description

This field is not mandatory. Simply describe the coupon in a few short sentences.

6. Discount Type

The discount type select gives you the opportunity to choose how the coupon works, whether it is a percentage discount on checkout, a fixed value on checkout, or a fixed product discount.

7. Coupon amount

This field allows you to input the amount of coupons you’d like to make available.

8. Free shipping

If you’d like your coupon to grant free shipping, just check this box. Although, make sure that a free shipping method is enabled in the shipping zone and it is set to require a valid free shipping coupon (see our guide on shipping zones).

9. Coupon Expiry Date

This field allows you to select the date you’d like your coupon to expire.

10. Usage Restriction

Click on the UsageRestriction tab if you want to restrict certain users/products to be included or excluded in this coupon.

10.1 Minimum Spend

Use this field to input the select minimum amount (without the currency sign) that must be spent for the coupon to apply.

10.2 Maximum Spend

You can also input the maximum amount of money that can be spent. This means that if more than what you have set is spent, the coupon will not apply.

10.3 Individual Use

Check this box if the coupon cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons.

10.4 Exclude Sale Items

If you’d like to exclude items on sale from this coupon, simply check this box.

10.5 Products

Use this to add all the products you’d like this coupon to apply to. Leaving it empty will apply the coupon to all products.

10.6 Exclude Products

To exclude any particular products from this coupon, simply select them in this field.

10.7 Product Categories

If you’d like to add particular categories to this coupon, simply select them in this field.

10.8 Exclude Categories

If you’d like to exclude particular categories from this coupon, simply select them here.

10.9 Allowed emails

Use this field if you’d like your coupon to apply only to clients that use a particular email at checkout.

11. Usage Limits

Click on the Usage limits tab.

11.1 Usage limit per coupon

If you’d like to limit the amount of times the coupon can be used before making it void, simply input your chosen number here.

11.2 Usage limit per user

If you’d like to limit the amount of times a user can use this coupon, simply input your chosen number here.

12. Click on “Publish”

Once you are finished setting up your coupon, just press the Publish button on the right.
