Repositioning a leading event caterer with a bold new brand and digital experience

Visit website

British Event Catering is a mobile catering company serving events across the UK. As the business grew, their identity and website no longer matched the level of service they were delivering. They needed a brand and a site that positioned them as a leader in event catering, and that could actually be found by the people booking it.

The starting point

An outdated brand holding back a growing business.

British Event Catering came to us mid-way through redeveloping the business. They needed a brand that conveyed the quality they had grown into, and positioned them as a leader in mobile catering rather than one of many.

The existing website was well out of date and needed starting again. Crucially, they wanted to be found: a site built to rank for the services they actually sell, not just to look better than the old one.

The British Event Catering brand mark
Brand and build

A modern identity, built on what already worked.

We started with a mark that reads instantly as food while still feeling premium. The burgundy carried over from their previous branding, so existing customers still recognised them, but the dated text treatment was replaced with a clean, modern typeface.

The site behind it had to win corporate work as well as private events, so discoverability was designed in from the start rather than added later, with an SEO foundation built into the structure.

Enhanced features

Booking caterers for 20,000 people is a nervous decision.

Whoever books the catering carries the risk if it goes wrong, whether that is a festival organiser or someone planning a wedding. Every feature here is there to remove a reason to hesitate.

01Client logos front and centre

A scrolling carousel of the brands they cater for, including the BBC, McLaren, Ford, London 2012 and Cancer Research, showing the scale they operate at before anyone reads a word.

02Two routes into the services

The site separates what you need (street food, mobile bars, concessions) from the kind of event you are running (festival, corporate, sports, emergency), so people navigate whichever way they think.

03Real events, with the numbers

Event breakdowns showing sixteen food stalls, twenty thousand guests, multiple food courts, with photography alongside. It is social proof and a scale check in one.

04A multi-step enquiry form

Event type, guest numbers, date and food preferences asked in sequence rather than all at once, which gathers real detail without feeling like a chore and pre-qualifies the lead.

05The full range of cuisine, shown

An animated showcase cycling through twenty-plus options from Greek gyros to stone-baked pizza, which positions them as one supplier for a whole event rather than a single van.

06Trust signals at decision points

Google reviews, accreditations and FAQs placed where the doubts actually surface: dietary requirements, licensing and minimum numbers.

The search challenge

Inconsistent visibility on the searches that matter most.

Event catering is a fiercely competitive, location-driven market. Visibility across the key service and location searches was patchy, which capped how much high-intent demand the business could capture, particularly for larger corporate work.

We optimised the core service and location pages, strengthened the site structure and internal linking, and built supporting content to reach people earlier in the decision, when they are still working out what they need rather than who to call.

Expanding reach beyond organic

Controlling visibility at the key decision points.

With organic capturing demand consistently, the next question was scale. Paid search extended reach into the competitive searches where organic coverage alone could only go so far.

Campaigns were structured around the core services and locations, with keywords and ad copy matched closely to intent. Ongoing optimisation kept spend under control and made sure paid was pulling in the same direction as the organic work rather than competing with it.
