A website audit that tells you what is really going on.
- A day of our team going through it by hand
- Written report in 2 to 3 working days
- Two hours of fixes on the end of it

A full website health check, not a plugin scan.
Design and brand
Does it still look like the business you are now? Consistency, hierarchy, imagery and the bits that quietly date a site.
User experience
How easy it is to actually get something done, on a phone as much as a desktop. Navigation, clarity, dead ends.
Conversion
Where people drop off and why. Calls to action, trust signals, form length, and the moments that lose an enquiry.
Functions and features
Every form, filter, booking, login and checkout step filled in and tested end to end. Broken functionality is the most expensive thing we find.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Real measurements on mobile and desktop, with the specific things costing you seconds rather than a score out of a hundred.
Security and firewall
Known vulnerabilities, malware, admin users you did not add, and whether anything has already been through the door.
Updates and plugin health
What is out of date, what is abandoned, what is duplicated, and what is quietly slowing the whole thing down.
Backups that actually restore
Whether backups exist, where they live, and whether they restore. Most are never tested until it is too late.
SEO and accessibility
Indexing, titles, redirects, broken links and schema, plus contrast, headings and keyboard navigation.
Two calls, real people, about a week.
Book and pay
Four short steps on the form, then £250 plus VAT by card.
Two minutesOnboarding call
We go through your goals and what is bothering you, so the audit looks at what matters to you.
30 minutesWe go through everything
Design, experience, conversion, functionality and the code underneath. Done by people, not a tool.
2 to 3 daysCompletion call and report
We walk you through the findings, the recommendations and the priority list, then send the report.
45 minutesTwo hours of fixes
We take the top items off the list and carry them out. Then you pick the plan that suits the site, with our view on the table.
Same weekA list you can work through, in priority order.
- A prioritised action listEvery issue in the order it should be tackled, with an estimated time to fix each one. No vague "improve performance" lines.
- A written report from a personWritten by the team who audited it, not generated. Plain English, what we found, what it means and what it costs to put right.
- A completion callWe walk you through the findings and recommendations together, so you can ask why rather than guess.
- Two hours of fixes, doneNot quoted, done. We take the top items off the list before we talk about anything ongoing.
- A clear recommendationWhat we would do next and why, so you can choose the plan that fits the site and where you are taking it. The call stays yours.

Everything you are probably wondering
What is a website audit?
A website audit is a structured review of an existing website to find what is broken, what is underperforming and what could be improved. Ours is a full website health check covering design and brand, user experience, conversion, functions and features, speed and Core Web Vitals, security, updates, backups, SEO and accessibility. It is carried out by hand by our team rather than generated by a tool, and it ends with a prioritised action list and an estimated time against every item.
Why do you charge for the audit when others do it free?
A free audit is a sales document. Somebody runs a tool, prints a score and calls you. Ours takes a day of real work from people who build and fix these sites, and it protects both sides: you are not signing up to a monthly plan for a site nobody has looked at, and we are not taking on a site we do not understand yet.
What actually happens on the two calls?
The onboarding call is 30 minutes before we start. We ask what the site is for, what you are trying to achieve and what is frustrating you, so we are auditing against your goals rather than a generic checklist. The completion call is after, where we walk you through the findings and the priority list so you can ask why, not just read a document.
How long does the whole thing take?
Two to three working days from the moment we have access, and about a week end to end including both calls. If we find something urgent, such as an active compromise, you hear from us the same day rather than waiting for the report.
Do I have to take a care plan afterwards?
No, and there is no obligation either way. You keep the report, the priority list and the two hours of fixes whatever you decide. On the completion call we will tell you what we would do next and why, and you choose from there.
Does the £250 come off a care plan if I take one?
No. The audit is a piece of work in its own right and takes the best part of a day, so it is charged separately from any plan. What you do get as a plan client is a free audit every year, and twice a year on Pro and Premium, so the site keeps being looked at properly rather than just maintained.
What if designbox built my site?
Then you skip the audit and go straight onto a plan. Clients on a plan get a free audit once a year, and twice a year on Pro and Premium, so the site keeps moving forward rather than just ticking over.
Will you change anything while you are in there?
Not without telling you. The audit itself is read-only. The two hours of fixes happen after you have seen the report and agreed what we should start with.
What access do you need?
WordPress admin and, ideally, hosting. If you cannot get hold of either, tell us on the form and we will work out what is possible. We have picked up plenty of sites where nobody knows the logins any more.
Which platforms can you audit?
Any of them. Design, user experience, conversion, content, functionality, speed, SEO and accessibility apply whatever the site is built on, and that is most of the audit. On WordPress and WooCommerce we can also get into the technical layer and carry out the two hours of fixes ourselves. On Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or a bespoke build there is less we can touch directly, so that time goes into working out what to do about what we found: a rebuild scope, a migration plan, or a list your own developer can pick up. Same price, same day of our time.
Can you audit an ecommerce site?
Yes, and we test the whole buying journey rather than just the pages: product filters, cart, checkout steps, payment and the confirmation emails. Broken checkouts are the most expensive problem we find.
What do you charge by the hour?
Our standard rate is £100 an hour plus VAT. On a care plan or a package it drops to £80 an hour, and every plan includes monthly support time before you pay for any extra at all. The two hours of fixes in the audit are charged at nothing, they are part of the £250.
What are the terms?
The full website audit terms cover what is included, timings, access, cancellation and liability. You confirm them on the last step of the booking form, and they are worth two minutes of your time before you pay.
Can I go on a care plan afterwards?
If your site is WordPress or WooCommerce, yes. Our care plans run on our own hosting, so they are WordPress and WooCommerce only. On any other platform the audit still stands on its own, and if the answer turns out to be a rebuild we will scope that instead.
